The Las Vegas Strip is typically where most tourists find themselves during their trip to Las Vegas, but there is much more to see in this city than that! Maybe you’ve been here a couple of times already and getting tired of doing the same old thing again and again, that’s why today we’re exploring the 10 Best Family Things To Do In Las Vegas Off The Strip.

1. Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay

Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay is the main attraction to see, I don’t know how many sharks they have but this aquarium is home to a 1.3 million gallon tank,  making it one of the largest in North America.  

The shark tunnel was my favorite part of this experience and I spent a good amount of time here just enjoying the view. The Mandalay Bay Shark Reef aquarium isn’t as large as you’d expect so definitely take your time making your way through the various exhibits.  

2. The Mob Museum

The Mob Museum is another place to visit,  If you’re intrigued by organized crime and the history of the mob you’re going to love this place. The museum spans several floors and takes visitors on a journey through the history of organized crime from its early beginnings to the present day. There is some pretty heartbreaking information you’ll learn from your visit here, which is obviously to be expected from organized crime.  

3. Fremont Street

Fremont Street is just a walk away from the museum, Fremont Street is lined with casinos and bars and is a much more affordable alternative for drinking and gambling than the strip, it’s worth seeing if this is your first time in the city. 

4. The Neon Museum

You will see the hundreds of vintage neon signs that used to be on the entrances of Vegas casinos, and hotels. This is an outdoor museum so I recommend planning your visit for early evening or at night, If you’re traveling solo, be sure to bring your phone or a camera and a small tripod so you can get some photos while you’re here.  

5. Las Vegas Arts District

There are a lot of local art galleries, shops, restaurants, and bars. The Arts District has a different vibe from the rest of Las Vegas, it is a great place to visit if you want to know Vegas beyond the casinos.  

As you walk around the Arts District you’ll find lots of cafes with outdoor patios and all kinds of street art including Snowball the Cat which was created by a local Las Vegas artist,  and be sure to get your picture with Snowball before heading down the street. There are some colorful murals just down the block.

6. Meow Wolf Omega Mart and Area 15

Omega Mart is an interactive art installation, it is an interactive, mind-bending, immersive art experience. It is located in Area 15, and you can even explore many other things in this area, If you’re into artsy stuff or just want to do something unique while in Vegas don’t miss this.

Area 15 is the Entertainment District where  Omega Mart is located, it has a bar in the center courtyard area, and a couple of restaurants, and a really impressive candy store. And there’s also a bunch of other experiences that you can try out like Axe throwing and some other kind of different crazy things.

7.  Lion Habitat Ranch

Consider visiting the Lion Habitat Ranch, a non-profit animal Refuge, there are more than 30 lions that call this ranch home and are the primary inhabitants, during a tour of the grounds, guests can learn about the Lions and get the chance to feed them, you’ll also get to meet Ozzie, the giraffe who is quite the character and paints images it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity that will undoubtedly leave you with lifelong memories.

8.  The Red Rock Canyon

A Hidden Gem located outside of Las Vegas gives tourists the chance to escape the city’s noise and bustle and discover the Mojave desert’s natural splendor, the beautiful red rock formations in this region which were shaped over millions of years by wind and water erosion are well known.

The Pinball Hall of Fame has about 700 pinball machines and retro arcade games that you can play, there’s no admission fee you just have to pay for each game, and each of them ranges between 50 cents to about a dollar bring your quarters but don’t worry there is a machine where you can change your cash into quarters.

A visit here makes a great way to spend an afternoon, especially when you’re trying to escape the midday heat.
